What Is A Tarot Reading?
A tarot reading is a form of cartomancy; it is used to gain insight into things that have happened in the past, situations going on in the present, and to give guidance on what may arise in the future.
People often turn to tarot in times of trouble to get a better understanding of what to do or which path to take.
Tools Used During a Tarot Reading
The main tool used for a tarot reading will be a deck of cards.
There is a huge array of tarot and oracle cards available, and each reader will have their own preference. It can even be possible to use a plain deck of playing cards to conduct a reading.
Once of the most well-known tarot card packs is the Rider Waite Tarot. This deck was first issued in 1910 and has grown in popularity since. This is the type of deck that comes to mind when most people think of a tarot reading.
The Rider Waite deck contains Major and Minor Arcana cards. There are cards within the deck that some people find frightening – like The Devil, Death, and The Hanged Man – but all have incredibly useful meanings and shouldn’t be feared.
As well as tarot cards, I find it helpful to use oracle cards and crystals when doing a reading.
Online Tarot Readings With Spirit Of Sapphire
I use the traditional Rider Waite deck of tarot cards for a reading. I started working with this deck 9 years ago and it has been my go-to deck ever since.
My cards are kept in a cloth bag with clear quartz to ensure they are cleansed of energy before and after each client. I also use either Palo Santo or sage to cleanse my cards.
To enhance the meaning of the reading, I often layer the Rider Waite tarot cards with oracle cards. I allow spirit to guide me towards selecting the right oracle cards for the person I’m doing the reading for.
It is not uncommon for spirit to come forward with messages during a tarot reading – in fact, it’s something I welcome. If this is not for you, please mention it beforehand and I can avoid passing on any messages.
How Much Are Tarot Readings?
Due to Covid, I now only offer tarot readings online. But the connection with who I’m reading for is not affected whatsoever, so you get the full experience, regardless of the platform.
My comprehensive online tarot readings are very reasonably priced. They can be delivered via Skype, Zoom, Facebook Messenger, or via email.

- 30-minute 6 card reading – £20 – this usually takes around half an hour
